Entry & Visa Requirements

Zambia has significantly streamlined entry in 2026 to encourage international tourism and business.

  • Visa-Free Entry: Citizens of over 160 countries (including countries that are members of SADC, Kenya, and other countries) can enter Zambia visa-free for up to 90 days. Please confirm if your country is on the Visa-Free Entry list at the Immigration Site. 
  • e-Visa Portal: If your country is not on the visa-exempt list, you must apply via the Official Zambia e-Visa Portal. Processing typically takes 3–5 working days. Read more about the steps here: Immigration Site.
  • Passport Validity: Passports must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry and have at least 3 blank pages.

 

Health: A Yellow Fever Certificate is required only if you are traveling from a yellow fever-endemic country.

Weather: Lusaka enjoys moderate temperatures. January – March is rainy and cool, April–September is cool and dry, while October–December is warmer.

Currency: Zambian Kwacha (ZMW), ATMs and card payments are widely available.
